Kongliecun Fm
Type Locality and Naming
It was proposed by Chen Zepei et al in 1985. The type section is located from 1080 m southeast of Yangdaocun Village to 500 m southwest of Dagancun Village in Ledong County, Hainan Province.
Synonym: (空列村组)
Lithology and Thickness
It is dominated by gray, blue gray to dark gray thin-bedded slate and sericitic slate, interbedded with sericitic quartzose siltstone. The Lower part is intercalated with light yellowish white thick-bedded quartzite and medium-to-coarse-grained quartzose sandstone; the base is composed of milk-white quartzite, partly being gravel-containing, intercalated with carbonaceous shale. The Upper part is intercalated with gray thick-bedded crystalline limestone.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The Kongliecun Fm rests conformably on the underlying Baojiaocun Fm
Upper contact
The Kongliecun Fm rests conformably below the overlying Dagancun Fm
Regional extent
The formation, 685-855 m in thickness, is exposed from Yaricun Village of Baoting County to Zhiancun Village of Sanya City.
